If you’re looking for a one of a kind escape room, this is the room for you! The story line is unlike any we’ve experienced. The theme is dark, but in a terrifyingly cheerful way. The puzzles in this room are unlike any other- unique, fresh, and complicated. There’s a great balance of mental and physical tasks designed to fully engage players. We were warned prior to the game that the recommended minimum number of players is 3. We feel this room would work best with 4-6 players. With that being said, we were able to complete the room with 2 players and our wonderful host offered to “be a puppet in the room” if we needed the extra man power. This room should be incredibly immersive, unfortunately the way clues are provided pulled us out of the game a bit. This problem could be solved very easily if the company included the clue delivery device in the story. We also felt the ending fell flat. We didn’t clearly feel the game was over until the host opened the door to congratulate us. Overall, these are minor complaints of an otherwise incredible game. This is a difficult room, even for advanced players. According to Riddle Room, Utopia has a 34% success rate.
Riddle Room is located in a fun neighborhood with multiple restaurants nearby. We stopped by Glam Doll Doughnuts for a tasty treat! If you’re looking to grab a celebratory drink, there are some funky bars in the area.
Pros: Totally unique story, wonderfully designed puzzles, low price
Cons: Clues take away from immersion, lackluster ending
